Mountain Laurel 7th grade Sessions 1-4 ONLY

• Session 1-Intro, group agreements, get to know you activities, being respectful about gender, begin reproductive and sexual anatomy parts overview--includes review of menstrual products
• Session 2--Continue repro/sexual anatomy, overview of sperm production, anatomy model activity, feelings people have about their bodies during puberty
• Session 3--Body image/Self esteem/Attraction We will focus on body image and the feelings we have attached to our bodies, and explore how that relates to self-esteem. We will also explore what attraction is, how it feels, and the different things/people who can influence attraction. Digital literacy skills will be incorporated including impacts of social media on body image/self esteem.
• Session 4-Healthy friendships/relationships/ Consent--Using scenarios we expand on our conversations from last year about friendships, qualities of good friendships, as well as how to navigate conflicts in friendships. Communication and consent through texting and other digital media will be incorporated. We will also discuss the differences between romantic relationships/friendships and healthy/unhealthy qualities in both types of relationships. We will begin to discuss warning signs of unhealthy relationships and how to get support if you notice some of these signs.
